This is a local job we picked up. It's been in their family for over 40yrs. As you can see, its had a lot of use (or been shown a lot of love). If you look carefully, you'll notice the chairs leaning to the front and side in the third photo. The chair is supported on a sprung plinth base where over the years, its moulded it self to an unfavorable distorted position. There was a lot of doubt about its worth and whether it's condition was repairable... But the Astrid team set about the challenge and the results were astonishing.
The comfort of the chair up to date, was supported with extra pillows and cushions to bolster the seat base up to a bearable comfort level. ( the temporary cushion & pillow have been removed - obviously) The original fabric used was a tapestry.
With a new lease of life and beautifully reupholstered in a Warwick tapestry, Kelmscott Scarlett, this gem is ready for another generation to enjoy.
